Phil: Let's start with the furniture. How much of mine do we want to kep?
Alix: It's all so NICE. Leather couch...teak coffee table...cool floor lamp...
FORE!
Val: I give it three weeks tops.
Biscuit: YIP!
Sorry, but those girls are old enough to know how to act right and not destroy everything. Even when mine were toddlers, they learned how to do the right thing.
Yes I do agree the girls are old enough to take care of nice things. I love them dearly, however sometimes they are spoiled brats. If I was Phil I’d be very upset that my things were going to get ruined immediately.
we ruined every stick of furniture in my mom’s house, played football in the living room, jumped on the couch (broke the legs off and had to put bricks under it), raced matchbox cars on the piano keys … etc
The girls must learn to respect other people’s property—no matter who it belongs to. Just how old are these girls anyway. Seems like they should grow up, at least a little.
If the girls did not act up including Holly’s teen drama would be dull strip. This is family though fiction meant to be lively. Furniture will get worn. I say keep Val’s furniture till ready to dump then use Phils.
When I was a kid, visiting at my grandparents’ house, one of our Aunts was known to point out that:
“You Kids can be Replaced, the Furniture Can’t.”.She was telling the truth about the Dining Room set.It was Custom Made from top quality Mahogany as a Wedding Gift to my Grandmother. .

Make Joan’s mystery room the girls’ tv/play room and put in all the old furniture and Phil’s in the living room.
