There’s narrow mindedness and there is willful ignorance.

So far. I’m not impressed. Trump thinks that all illegal immigrants are felons and Jeb thinks people are lazy because they don’t work a 40-hour week. I don’t know what rock he’s been hiding under, but I don’t know many people who only work 9-5 Monday to Friday.

I certainly hope he intends to work at least a 40-hour week in the White House.

I agree completely. It’s like thinking that you can read a dictionary definition of Christianity and understand the whole history of the religion, including heresies, controversies, schisms, reformations, and so on. A very foolish approach.

The kind of socialism that I adhere to holds three basic principles: (1) the profits of labor should go to the people who do the labor; (2) private individuals should not profit from public goods, such as natural resources; social problems require social solutions. Notice that I do not say that managers and administrators shouldn’t be paid; they work, and they deserve to be paid, but not in a way that deprives other workers of fair compensation; notice that I don’t say that all problems are social problems; and notice that I don’t say that there has to be equality of compensation or equality of outcomes (or incomes). And notice that I don’t say that there is no place for markets. I happen to believe that for some purposes markets are a good an efficient mechanism. But they aren’t god.
