Sigh. Gluten is wheat germ. It is not found in grass, nor is it something to be avoided unless you have Celiac disease. I really have to laugh when products that are made from corn or rice (such as Chex cereals) advertise the fact that they are gluten-free. Of course they are – gluten is, by definition, wheat.

Very true; however the way processed foods are made these days does not guarantee there is no wheat; so it is an assurance to those who do have to have gluten free.

Good for you JanCinV. This gluten-free food faddish nonsense that is so popular these days with so many people is based on zero scientific evidence. It’s mostly pushed by marketing pukes in the food industry. People that think they are sensitive to gluten need to be tested by their doctor and not just jump on the gluten-free bandwagon being pulled by silly celebs, your Auntie Mable, or other non-scientists. Listen to people with real knowledge and not charlatans with a vested interest in your actions.

I had never even heard of kambucha before reading an article this morning about a local brewer attempting to develop a kambucha beer.
