Come on! How can you not like Dakota? She can stare down a goblin queen, not bat an eye when she loses all her hair, be totally unfazed when it regrows and turns out to be magical and has a goblin as an adopted sibling. SO COOL! Hopefully she’ll be doing all this and more in this reincarnation of the strip.

Dropping this comic into newspapers seems to have retconned Dakota and Phoebe’s relationship. Personally I think it worked out batter the way we saw it the first time through. It seems a little heavy-handed this time.

When I was hurt by something someone said my mother often told me, during the short time I had her, “consider the source.” I understood it better as I got older and have used it many times. If she had thought of it, I think she might have added, “…and summon your inner unicorn.”
