Zimmerman just keeps getting into trouble. When a co-worker told me “he had been shot” my first question was “Did he have it coming?”
I WAS in favor of unfettered stand your ground laws before Zimmerman (And a frightened jury) took it to an extreme. It shows that his community was more afraid of black youth loitering in their neighborhood then they were of a white idiot waving a gun. After all his brushes with the law, I have to wonder if the community opinion isn’t turning.
Zimmerman became a hero for people who were becoming afraid to sit on their porch or walk through their neighborhood. But he is certainly a deeply flawed hero.
To me he was just another dangerous, thoughtless thug.
Mr. Gray had a criminal record.Mr. Zimmerman tried to do his duty to protect his neighborhood that was experiencing robberies. The Leftwing made him a target and the Leftwing is like the Mafia, they don’t forget to go after their chosen enemies.
Revisionist history. According to Martin’s friend who was on the phone with him, Martin was going BACK to confront (beat the crap out of) Zimmerman. If you’ve already gotten out of a situation and choose to go BACK to the situation, you’ve lost the excuse of being afraid of being shot as the reason you are brutally attacking someone. Nice try but you Martin apologists lie like nobody’s business. Mistakes were made on both sides, but Martin lost his life because of his own actions which were clearly NOT based on fear. Go peddle your BS somewhere else.
The tapes showed Zimmerman was clearly STALKING Martin, first in his car, then on foot, when advised not to. Zimmerman’s act was premeditated, and he skated.
The fact that too many “unarmed youth”, who are half a foot or more taller and outweigh officers trying to apprehend them, ARE NOT UNARMED when it comes to their ability to do gross physical harm to the officer. My son’s Deputy Sheriff friend who’s recovering from a broken neck suffered in arresting a recalcitrant large “bad guy”, was lucky not to die, or end up crippled for life, from an attack by an “unarmed” offender.
