A guy with that kind of rap sheet should be a hero to nobody.Unfortunately in our inner-city ghettos there aren’t any real role-models.

Let’s not lose sight of the original issue, okay? People of color are being TARGETED by the police, arrested inappropriately, and even killed without consequence for the police. Is violence an inappropriate response? Certainly. But let’s not forget that it STARTED with violence by someone with state authority, who abused it. Violence begets violence.

The first reality is a) that the man truly appears to have been abused horribly by the police. The second reality is b) the mob riots in Baltimore are truly idiotic and abusive. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++“Two wrongs do not make a right.” seems to fit awfully well here. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++I never understood the idiocy that would result in a mob riot. People are just destroying their own city, and the repercussions will be felt socially, economically, and emotionally from that stupidity for years and decades to come. The vast majority of folks in Baltimore ARE NOT rioting. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++I also do not understand the use of excessive force by police officers. The vast majority of police officers ARE NOT abusive and are integral members of our society. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++The reasonable public should and has been protesting the abusive actions of the few police officers involved. The police involved need to be investigated and punished (each one that is guilty). All the rioters and looters who commit any crime should be jailed. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++Jen’s comic is difficult today, due to the story we are living beyond what was being pointed out in the comic.

I saw a news report of a young man’s mother who came to the protest and hanked her kid out of it…chewing his ear off while doing so. She saw him on TV. Most parents are unaware of what their little darlings are doing.

I’m pretty sure that the real explanation for the Riots in Baltimore is that they are the culmination of a Lifetime of “Just One Damned Thing After Another” for the Black residents of the city..This is also the city that has decided to Turn off the Drinking Water for Thousands of residents who are on the verge of Bankruptcy while leaving the water ON for Wealthy People who owe Literally Millions of Dollars for watering their Country Club Greens.

As Gray was being lifted toward the police van, his inability to raise his head, and the food drop, indicated his spinal injury had already occurred BEFORE any of the video. It MAY have been that in his intial “take down”, or evasion, he hit is head/whatever, and caused the spinal injury. That police didn’t properly assess and treat him immediately IS a problem, of either/and training and “attitude”.

It’s reported he ran because he was carryng an illegal switchblade knife. That IS another case of somebody doing something, even minor, that is criminal in nature.

The rioting and looting are criminal acts, mostly by people who are NOT “locals”. I too loved the scene of the mother slapping the doo-dah out of her son for participating in the riot. People do NOT want their neighborhoods burned down.
