Isis kills all nonbelievers unless they convert to Sunni Islam. Christians are no exception. Why should they be? The fascinating thing about this tune is the gruesome iconic images of the crucifixion. This is Christian imagery, not Muslim. Amazingly, the crucifixion is such a gory affair and has captured so many for so long. Yes, I know all about the story. But this sort of toon puts a punctuation mark on a common practice in Roman times. Jesus’ real contribution was to show that we should love our neighbor, help the downtrodden and dispossessed, and judge not. The whole resurrection thing just seem odd to say the least.

(Sorry if this comment is redundant here..)Jesus said that the poor will always be with us and that at the time those present should pay attention to him and what he was (and is still) doing. As to the resurrection, it’s been said that believers are ‘fools for Christ’. Perhaps so from the perspective of those who don’t believe. The crux is faith; how to have it if you don’t. This is not a conundrum. The late Mother Teresa said “..lack of faith is no excuse.. ask for it.” The first step for this is go go within, and at that place where faith does not exist say “here I am, I surrender, do with me as you will, only give me faith”.. then wait. Ramirez’s image is spot on of today’s world. And the victims died to that world for their faith.

Christians persecuted in the Middle East are not Christians being persecuted in the US. Christians are NOT being persecuted in the US. Insisting on people not being jerks is not persecution.

Someone wrote that the DA (formerly DA3sh in Arabic or ISIS in English, now usually referred to as ‘the so-called Islamic State’) kills all those and only those who are not Sunni Muslims..However, the Kurds are mostly Sunni Muslims who are being killed for being illegally in the part of Arabia controlled by the DA. The DA in Arabia says everyone must be a good, Arab, Salafist, Caliphatist Muslim., and there is no way a Kurd can comply with that requirement..Islam spread because the Christian rulers imposed a 10% tax just to support the churches (plus a lot more tax to support the rulers)..Islam says the tax for the mosque is 2.5% for Muslims and 5% for Christians and Jews. So lots of Christians didn’t fight too hard to stop the Islamic take-over of their lands. (Of course, after they had full control, some of the Caliphs, Sultans, Kings, and Emirs announced that just paying the 5% wasn’t enough, everyone had to convert, leave, or die; of course, in 1492, the King and Queen of Spain said the same thing for all non-Roman-Christians and also included many of the Arabs and Jews who had converted; and, of course, many Americans know the date because, to celebrate, the King and Queen awarded lots of prizes, one of which went to an Italian to build some of the new-fangled boats that could beat against the wind.)

The world is actually safer than ever. And here’s the data to prove thathttp://www.pri.org/stories/2014-10-23/world-actually-safer-ever-and-heres-data-prove“We live in a much more peaceful and inclusive world than our ancestors of the past,” he says. “The news is very much focused on singular events. All of these trends that I’m looking at are slow changes that happen over decades, or sometimes even centuries. These developments never have a ‘now’ moment that would make them interesting for news that is following current events.” War and Peace after 1945http://ourworldindata.org/data/war-peace/war-and-peace-after-1945/

I do not believe Christians or anyone should be killed, but if Christians only want to focus on Christian deaths have they read the bible.

“Over the top”? Your previous comments have called for those you hate to be killed. You’re sounding hypocritical.

Shock and awe, in one sortie killed more Muslims than ISIL has killed Christians, and beheading by blade is so much more barbaric than blowing a child into pieces small enough to fit in sandwich bags.

“Good Christians” just need to ignore all of history in the last 2,000 years to avoid the blame for all THEIR atrociites, crusades, Inquisition, “conquest” fo the New World to spread the New Testament, right, no pain, no gain.

The commentary is in no way blaming Obama for this tragedy, but it DOES point out his inexcusable lack of response to it.

The ConServatives are angry that the President hasn’t declared a New Crusade to “Fix” the Muslim Problem..The fact that any such “Crusade” would be the worlds Worst Military boondoggle EVER is of no consequence..Sadly, too many of them really Believe that“My Strength is the Strength of 10 because I’m a Crusader” Bullpuckey.

The statement is true about the USA. And that is all that he was talking about. The truth is deliberately being twisted here.
