17 years ago I was at a game, sitting in the left field stands. Andres Galarraga slammed a laser beam headed straight for two of my chattering little leaguers sitting in front of me. At the last second the ball hooked and hit the concrete steps beside them; they never noticed. Must have been going 100 mph. Don’t think I have seen a glove thick enough to make me want to try to catch one of those.
