The puppet masters seem to enjoy the Punch and Judy show that the 2 right wing political parties are performing for them. A conservative government, historically favors the status quo and secures that the wealthy are in control. The infrastructure, period maintenance, dealing with the effects of storms, flooding, drought and other disasters that do not directly affect the puppet masters have not priority. For a brief period of time from the end of the great depression until 1974 there was growth in everyone’s income and assets. Both before and after that interval, inequity was present and there was no growth in income and assets for any but the wealthiest. It is hard work to maintain the superposition of progressive and conservative legislation that results in growth. It is much easier to stir the emotions in the form of political ideologies, and keep the puppet masters in control and shut out the middle class without their being aware of it.

Me too, it tough to get away from political extremism. Everybody thinks they are the only ones who know how to run the world, Peace. Happy Easter.

Other than the fact that agriculture, and cities, in California are by the largest part using DESERT, where little water occurs in the first place, the drought in California is mostly the result of HUMAN actions, yes including California’s own too, thousands of miles away.

While studies in the Northwest show that in the last 6,000 years, two severe droughts lasing over 500 years did occur, but rainfall was the major change factor, not tempertures. Plants and animals also weren’t being killed off by the pollution in their habitats.

The problem isn’t just shriveled grapes, but dead vines, and soils as well. Which, the greatest damage done by European use of the land, has been the very distruction of those soils, over-tilling, overgrazing, over harvesting of timber, and never mind the damage to surface soils from fracking, oil spills, mountaintop removal mining, and other little things.

Yes, the drought in California does rreach far beyond the borders of that shriveling state.

Shriveled due to lack of planning or foresight.
