    True! The first collie they tried to use for the original movie was a female. But when she refused to jump into a raging river, she was replaced with a male collie named, pal.

    I AM CARTOON LADY!: Who were trained by Rod Redwing, whose mother was the inspiration for the song, The Moon Shines Tonight on Pretty Redwing. The tune of which became the basis of Union Maid by Woody Gutherie and Pete Seeger. It may take more than six degrees, but ultimately everything connects to everything else.

    I think they used a male collie because their coats are nicer. What I read anyway.
