She just wants to clip Snoopy’s wings and have him stay home and be as miserable as she is about lost opportunities. My dad used to spout “people are the same wherever you go, when you go you take yourself with you.” He just wanted us to stay put. He only spoke his native language (American English) and had no experience of other countries or cultures. I fled to Europe, and discovered just how different things are over here from smalltown middle America.
I’m putting my bets on “something.” But not to worry… Snoopy always has an uncanny way of turning a negative into a positive. Except Lucy. Not even Snoopy can turn that negative into a positive!
After having our grand-beagle live with us for awhile, I came to appreciate that beagles love to go walk-about. Petaluma, Augusta, Paris – fair game for a beagle. And falling in a hole was nothing compared to the rattlesnake bite our’s got. Getting lost? Only if it rains so much they can’t find traces of their scent to track back to home. Go Snoopy. Have a good trip.
