Clare: Wanna hear a classic Zen riddle, Neil? Neil: Oh, boy! I love riddles! Clare: "If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?" Neil: Well, the person who chopped it down would hear it! Clare: No, Neil... No one chopped it down. Neil: They pushed it? That's a strong person...maybe it's a gorilla! Clare: No, no...there's no one to hear it! Neil: Ooohhh, I get it...they're wearing earplugs. Or maybe they're deaf! Clare: Aarrgh, Neil. When it comes to riddles, you top them all. Neil: I bet it's all the "riddlin" pills I took as a kid!

A falling tree creates pressure waves in the air that become sound when they strike someone’s eardrum. It ain’t sound until you hear it.

If you turn on your radio and walk outside where you can’t hear it, it is still making a sound.
