Yeah, right, It’s because of Obamacare. Well indirectly I suppose. Congress couldn’t get their way by repealing it, so they cut funding for enforcing it.

I spoke to my accountant and he’s been processing horror stories about the subsidy and tax credits. People are having to pay upwards of 4-5k (a conservative number) because they underestimated their income when they purchase the PPACA-based plans, and now they’re having to pay that back with interest, fines, and fees. Sticker shock, indeed.

In the long run Obamacare will probably save money. Why can’t we talk about all of the companies and people hiding money offshore to avoid taxes, all the special tax breaks the allow corporations that make billions to pay little or no tax, inversion, and military equipment the Pentagon doesn’t want? The Republicans have a very unbalanced approach of protecting the wealthy and taking all the savings out of the middle class.

Obviously a single payer system seems to work more efficiently. But we would, as a people, have to give up on Saint Ronnie’s (PBUH) dictum that government is the problem. Oh well. So where are the alternate solutions, then? Oh, I forgot, we don’t need no solutions, we just need to suck it up and let everyone who is poor go without healthcare. Hmmm, wasn’t it Saint Ronnie (PBUH) who signed the federal law into place that you had to treat everyone who shows up at the emergency room, regardless of their ability to pay? That sounds like, wait for it…drum roll, please….the conservative national health care plan!!!!!!! Yay.

“Social Welfare OrganizationsTo be tax-exempt as a social welfare organization described in Internal Revenue Code (IRC) section 501©(4), an organization must not be organized for profit and must be operated exclusively to promote social welfare.”

“The promotion of social welfare does not include direct or indirect participation or intervention in political campaigns on behalf of or in opposition to any candidate for public office. However, a section 501©(4) social welfare organization may engage in some political activities, so long as that is not its primary activity. However, any expenditure it makes for political activities may be subject to tax under section 527(f).”

Conservative Oklahoma is coming to the realization that all the business deductions are hurting the state and businesses. (Mary did get her lower tax rate forced thru even tho the state knew shortfalls were accumulating.)/ and again, not long ago the politicians wanted a dome on the capital and claimed it would be paid for by private interests, but it was completed with public funds. They knew at that time the building needed repair, not a new addition, and they are trying to get funding to do the repairs now when they are so much worse then they were then./

I wonder if this was less a move to defund Obamacare and more a move to punish the IRS for the whole Tea Party Audit fiasco. I myself believe the IRS did target audits based on political bias. But ‘defanging’ them like this is just going to hurt the country in the long run.

Let’s follow the Republican lead and cut funding for IRS agents to collect the money to keep the government running, but INCREASE the amount paid to “private” contractors, to fight more wars for us. Brilliant strategy!

Where did it all go? The US government’s #1 expenditure is the military. Congress adds billions of dollars to that bloated budget to buy weapons the military didn’t even ask for. Not that the Republicans gave two sh-ts and a Popsicle stick about spending until a Democrat moved into the White House.
