It’s funny that what Dan Rather said was true. The opposition, instead of showing evidence to the contrary, that Bush fulfilled his service taher than leaving early as Rther claimed, they attacked Rather’s source, in particular the type-face, not the actual content.If they really thought Bush was innocent, they could have pulled out his service record to prove it. That never happened.
Nothing said here relates to Mr. Williams’ flights of self serving fantasy. What Mr. Williams claimed cannot be blamed on anyone but himself. That’s called accountability in the real world.
Rather had lots of accurate documentation, got conned with using two which proved “faked”, but the FACTS were RIGHT! Bush recieved his “discharge” from the Guard before his actual service period was up, that it was “retrocactive” was interesting. HIs orders to report back for his physical and he didn’t comply was, among other things, also documented.
Edward R Murrow also had lots of proofs on McCarthy. He used them. What bothers me most today is how many folks in the “media”, and public, are on McCarthy’s side, again. There may be slightly different targets, hmmm Ukraine, maybe not so much, but Islam, drugs, women’s rights, Iran, health care, debt they rang up, the right has more than just “commies” to fight this time. That’s not comforting.
