What does the Red Hat Society do?

Wearing red hats. What else?

This is new to me. Red Hat Society’s primary purpose if for social interaction and bonding among woman. Opal, lose the feather!

Oh, good grief. Don’t you go out to lunch once a month with a friend and sit and talk? Most Red Hat ladies already belong to several organizations and/or volunteer at soup kitchens, homeless shelters, nursing homes, etc.

The irony is that the level of conformity in the Society is what the poem warns against.

The idea is that for many women, by this time in their lives they’ve already spent the better part of a lifetime caring for others and it’s time to sit back and relax a bit.

You should get to a point in life where you say to yourself “I just don’t give a tinker’s whistle about what you think”, and then go and do what makes you comfortable. .The only restriction is to not hurt anyone. .
