I just saw wire wrapped around tree branches in our greenspace. It was put there by the gardener!! Apparently he doesn’t know (or perhaps it’s care) how harmful that is to trees.
I remember a similar experience occurring in our yard when I was quite young. My dad was not happy with the situation, and “encouraged?” me to “go fly a kite” in the open field near our house the next time I had the urge…
Actually, to me, the best kite strip ever was where Lucy and Linus are similarly following a path of kite-created destruction until they come to a huge snarl of string. Lucy decides to untangle the snarl and tells Lins to go and look for Charlie Brown, when, out of the snarl comes the words “Don’t bother.”
