Over-Inflation. The Patriots' underinflated ball scandal is larger than the scandal surrounding domestic violence among NFL players and the concussion scandal.
Also a Bostonian, and at best, a fair-weather Patriots fan, this ‘toon shows our mis-placed priorities. As others here on GC have stated, and newspapers have pointed out, there are multiple explanations about the air pressure in the footballs. Why weren’t the Pats caught in earlier games? The Pats respected, but were not afraid of the Colts; why risk scandal to defeat them?It seems to be Americans’ pastime to smear the famous. We even see it here, above our comments, on GC. So, yes, Tom Brady has used under-inflated footballs for over ten years now. Belichick is a loser who only cheats to win. And all those guys who CAUGHT the passes must be cheating too. Patriot fans can recall a bogus call by a referee, in an important game against the Raiders that cost NE a playoff game. Pat fans recall a cheap tackle be “The Assassin” which broke Daryl Stingly’s back. Hey, it’s fun to smear a winner!
And now the Seahawks areentering the fray, with a first salvo of psychological warfare. In hope of putting more stress on the Patriots, they are now clamoring that the Pats be punished, for an incident which is unproven.
