Just a note; Nixon ran the “hot” war longer than LBJ, to profit his friends. Nixon was President with policies causing that “staglation”. Reagan and Bush 41 quadrupled the national debt; yep their policies really worked, and largely still do reign in the corporate sectors. That $18 trillion is in the vast majority run up by right-wingers war, er “defense” costs, not social programs.
