Actually, the model has been around for a long time, not new. The diference is that MORE people are working multiple jobs to get enough to live, and years ago, it was merely so they could buy more “toys”. The reduction in folks “disposable” income measurable decline today.
With the continued migration of good paying manufacturing jobs overseas, the only jobs left are lower paying service jobs for companies that limit hours to avoid having to pay employee benefits.
I work in a hospital. My job hasn’t been outsourced overseas, but I’m still working low hours. Why? Take a clue from that word ‘hospital’. From doctors to dishwashers, Obamacare is a swear word at my job.
