Also no mention of Dillon Taylor, a white teen who was killed by a black cop in Utah a few days after Michael Brown. Doesn’t fit the narrative. Liberalism is a mental disorder.
I will believe in good cops when they take action against the bad cops.I paraphrased this from the standard right wing position against islam. It works in both cases.
This is about men who kill the very citizens they are sworn to protect. Police put Eric Garner in a choke hold, something they aren’t even allowed to do per NYC police regulation. He yelled out that he couldn’t breathe and died. The medical examiner determined the death was a homicide because he died from lack of oxygen directly caused by the choke hold move the officers illegally used on him.The entire incident from start to finish was caught on video and the cops were STILL let off without so much as a slap on the wrist. Their callous and illegal over reaction cost a man his life and they’re not even going to stand trial for it.
I think the majority of police try to do the right thing. In the Garner case they clearly over reacted. They had him out numbered, he did not have a weapon and he was not causing harm to others. They should have taken the time to talk him down and if that failed, subdued him without the illegal choke hold. In the Brown case, the evidence indicates he did attack the officer, Brown did beat him and he did just rob a store. That call was correct. What was wrong was an all white police force in a predominantly black community and a lack of community involvement and trust.
PICTO and fatchance: exactly right. Of course, they may be concerned that they’ll get the Serpico treatment, but if that’s the case, they should resign.
Nick, this is another example of race baiting. do something about the Black and Hispanic home invasions where so many white people are shot, murdered, and robbed.
What’s going to end up happening is that no police officer will ever arrest or approach a black criminal. Is anyone really prepared for that. All those protest will only feed the collapse of rule of law. It is obvious that the masses refuse to see the circumstances to what happened, and only see what they want see.
“Anderson doesn’t give a damn about the over 6,700 black people who were murdered by over 6,700 other black people last year. He just wants to be a racist.”You repeat that pseudo-conservative meme as if it excuses the officers who killed an asthmatic man by placing him in a choke hold, a tactic they’re not allowed to use.

…“What an insult to all our good police officers”
If the good police officers stand silent and let the bad apples spoil the barrel, then they are not good police officers.

How dare you, sir? Dragging facts into this discussion is not a part of the current best thinking on the situation.

Its not like they haven’t killed any white people, or hispanics, or asian. I guess since they are not the usual face of racism its not that important.

One of the most tasteless comics I have ever seen in my life.
