@ the end of paragraph 3, it states (allegedly) scientists are coming closer to developing vaccines for Ebola/Marburg. Hopefully, they correctly work, get expedited clearance, & are dispersed without causing deadly global stampedes.

Too bad the ’toon is too close to reality. BTW: on the skill set of the Bush adminisration, go back to the Superdome, and 9th Ward photos, and video, yep they were right on top of things.

No, but you Democrats do them so well. Happily your cover-ups don’t always work either

Ha! Funny video. I love conspiracy nuts. Except in these cases there is a real-world negative effect: the spread of misinformation. No wonder there is hysteria in our ‘sophisticated media’.

In some of the affected areas we understandably have misinformation & mistrust. There are high rates of illiteracy, suspicion of government officials (corruption is rife), suspicion of health workers (conspiracy theorists abound there too, usually originating from local folks with vested interests in not allowing vaccination efforts, local power plays ).I can understand the suspicion & mistrust at that level: low access to verifiable information, extreme lack of formal education, illiteracy, superstitions etc

But it absolutely astounds me when I read of conspiracy theorists amongst the educated and allegedly rational. It seems sometimes a little education is dangerous. This ‘tapping of one’s nose’ with a knowing nod, because you’re in the ‘secret know’ exasperates me. Ignorance among the impoverished is excusable. Ignorance among us is inexcusable and is called something else. Is Information overload the cause of this new phenomena?

ONE case arrives in Texas because the guy lied before leaving Europe for America, TWO nurses caring for him AFTER he ADMITTED he’d been with an Ebola patient in Liberia and those brillian TEXANS kicked him loose for another couple days to run around while infectious. WHICH, the people whom he spent four days in a closed apartment with, may be released from quaranteen tomorrow, as they’ve displayed no symptoms.

So, if there is any blame for anyone contracting Ebola in America, it’s the TEXAS hospital, in the state where Rick Perry wouldn’t allow expansion of Medicade, or improvement of the health care system with additional funding.
