Transcript:
Poncho: Did the Easter Bunny come to your place last night? Boomer: Easter Bunny? Poncho: Yeah! He's a magical bunny that comes in the night and leaves Easter eggs! He didn't come to visit you? Ha! Hudson: Did you get any eggs? Poncho: Well, actually he ran out. He said he'd owe me. He and his friends were pretty hungry after visiting so many houses. Boomer: His friends? Poncho: Yeah. I got them some food. They also said the price of eggs and chocolate soars this time of year. I decided to be a good Samaritan and help them out with some silverware and minor appliances. What? Bunny 1: And then I told him my feet were cold and he gave me these! Bunny 2: That the best you can do on the espresso maker?

This is to cynical for me on Easter.

It’s not too cynical to me….it’s actually a wake-up call to think about what we tell our children. Rabbits give live birth, as children learn in school, but parents tell their kids at Easter, they lay eggs. Hmmm…….

It’s a spring fertility celebration, people. The mono-theists co-opted it just like they co-opted the winter solstice celebrations.
