Holly’s face is priceless in the way she greets Arnold. She seems genuinely happy to talk to him. Sweet!

Holly is old enough to understand different time zones and be considerate of her grandma’s sleep schedule. I would never wake someone up just to chat.

On the last Sunday of September, New Zealand will go on Daylight Saving Time, so they’ll be 17 hours ahead of us; when we go back on Standard Time early in November, New Zealanders will be 18 hours ahead of us. But we get 7 more weeks of Daylight Saving Time than they do; they get half a year of it, we get 33 weeks of it.

At least South Africa doesn’t observe Daylight Saving Time, so the number of hours’ difference between Pacific Time and South African Time doesn’t change more than twice a year.
