It’s the ones who work in middle schools that get spent fast. 11-13 year olds are an unadulterated evil that you cannot control, you can only contain it.
I had an elementary principal who quit the same last day of school as I did; either we used him up or he was leaving before the next grade class got worse.
The only kind-hearted teacher among all the shrews I had in elementary school abruptly disappeared and nobody would tell us where she went. Then literally 50 years later I suddenly realized she must have died. We had some slow students in my class, but I never thought I was one of them.
