No dog wants to be a cat. They already have the better species. A species which, by the way, can fix a cat’s wagon if he wants to.

I disagree, MrslukeSkywalker. I had a cat that was the terror of every dog in the neighborhood that decided to mess with her.

Me too. I had a rather large tom cat once that would lie on a low limb in a tree and wait for any dog to come by. The bigger the the better. Dog would amble by and yippee ky yaay!!!!

But Odie doesn’t want to be a cat. Love his expression the the third panel.

I don’t like dogs in real life, but I love Odie. Let’s see more of him.

They were gods in ancient Egypt, L – and no cat today will let you forget it. :)

From Garfield’s point of view, more like the court jester….

if Odie becomes like a cat, he should meow instead of bark.

Does this mean Odie has to puke a hairball and lick his behind?

Regarding dogs whipping cats, it ain’t necessarily so. One house down the street had a German Shepherd so mean that it literally came through the screen door to attack the letter carrier. They were the only house on the block (in the whole subdivision actually) who had a mailbox by the sidewalk.

That dog got out once and got into our back yard where some rabbits were being kept. Our huge, fluffy, Persian cat walked along the top of the fence until he could leap squarely on the dogs back. He proceeded to ride that dog like a bronc buster working his claws into the dogs back. Someone closed the gate when this happened and the poor dog made several laps around our big backyard until someone finally opened the gate and the dog made his escape. The cat just casually bailed out as the dog exited the yard. He never came close to our house again.
