When my dad was dying of cancer, he’d sit and watch TV on the couch, and one of the dogs we had at the time (who was also very old and passed soon after) would sleep on his leg.
A neighbor brought their little Westie over and just gave her to us years ago on a November night when I was a kid. My dad said ‘That dog will sleep in the garage.’
A few days later he said ’It’s kind of cold in the garage, so she can sleep in the laundry room.’
And a few days after that, she had the run of the house.

We have spoiled dogs, they are allowed on furniture. I think this strip is rerun.

I am the one holding to those rules. We are getting a dog. I know that when I’ll turn my back, hubby and dog will be on the sofa.
