I remember on Sound of Music did Julie Andrews character wear that kind of hat traveling at the end. I remember movies of women back then with those hats when I was a kid, I am not that old now.
this strip is often clever and touching but was drawn some time ago. If you look at it in a current newspaper, it seems to have a different artist and is less clever.

I loved Zasu Pitts! If you ever get to see any of her movies or TV appearances, watch her hands! Nobody ever acted more with their hands than Zasu!
