In today’s strip: I thought only James addressed Ellen as “Ruthie’s Mom.”
As a parent never gave state of what ever address including kitchen. Children are just children. Parent’s train children as they grow what is needed done.
Example of why this strip is a little gem.
@ Strod and all: According to Wikipedia, the family name is Lombard (from Lombardo). They supposedly have some Italian in the family.
