I thought that was more of a thing with Brits than with guys here (although they DO have no problem with them here, other obscenities seem to prevail in language).
Those to whom bodily functions have such humor or who resort constantly to obscenities just appear to have a very limited vocabulary.
James may have a more pressing problem if his family have very limited finances; I remember a boy or 2 in my elementary school who always carried an odor of cleaning fluid (and some families may have quite a crowd sharing a single toilet room). One never knows.

I also argue with my GPS when she selects a route where I prefer another or when she gives a silly read to a street name.
