Ive read some of the series of Benjamin January books by Barbara Hambly and learned the historical distinction between colored and black
Learned a lot of other stuff too, good books
I had a Black friend from New Orleans who described the people who dominated the upper income Black social scene there as the Beige-oisie.
Tell that to the royal family. They want their bloodline to be as pure as possible and will give anyone a hard time for even being the tiniest bit of mixed.
I know through 1st hand experience that American Blacks follow some hard rules about skin darkness. Pretty sad honestly
Can’t be disappointed by her excitement. LOL! Even my kids will benefit from that rationale.
