A keystone of Christianity is forgiveness. Islam remembers every insult, real or imagined, for over 1500 years, and vows revenge for each instance. Sunni and Shiite have been at eachother’s throats since the death of Mohammed, and NO ARBITRATOR from the outside will bring them into agreement.

The Bushes really solved that problem? It seems to me all they ended up doing is getting a lot of Americans killed in their religious war.

…um….I don’t think so….have you forgotten about the strife in Ireland? And how about Catholic Protestant problems in England in the 1500s? And then, there was that lovely, peaceful Christian guy who masterminded the Holocaust?..Do you actually KNOW anything about history or just consider your biased opinions as fact?

The Obama Administration had a chance back in 2012, when the political situation was stable enough that President Obama was able to declare victory as he pulled our troops out of the country. Since then his disengagement from the country has contributed greatly to the derailment of Iraq’s democratic hopes.

Several thousand more years of that “history book”, Semites haven’t gotten along with each other any better, and it’s still not resolved since Abraham, who should maybe have drowned both his kids. Plains Indians in North America also didn’t get along, nor have tribes in Africa, or South America, or Asia. Tribalism is the basis for human social organization, not “nationalism”, but both become dangerous when taken to extremes.

Ask the Bosnians how forgiving and loving the Croatian murderer/rapists were. I always wondered how their wives and parents received them upon their return home. “Did you make any Muslim babies, Miroslav? Why not?”

I’m not sure if that Europe part was irony or if you know less about European history than a three year old. I’m guessing the former. I think the middle east will get it’s act together in a few hundred years, if we get the hell out of there and leave them alone. It’s their country and their problem, and we are not helping no matter how much we think we are responsible for the whole world and therefore required to try.
