Maybe Moonbeam might want to use that $80,000,000.00 on something better than a cool choo-choo train……….

    Welfare in California34%

Of the nation’s welfare recipients live in California but only …

    12%

… of the U.S. population resides here.

California is third among states in per-capita spending on welfare:

    $179

    New York leads the nation:

    $256

    Idaho is at the bottom:

    $17

Toyota is moving its headquarters to the “business friendly” state of Texas. I hope the employee are given enough compensation for the congested roads, lack of services, heat, etc. (I left years ago and am glad to leave after every return visit)

You know, I do not disrespect any of the great states of the US. All of them have both good and bad points. I just get very tired of the ultra conservatives on this site that do not seem to have anything better to do than to disrespect my own state of California! And this even includes some of the Editorial Cartoonists themselves.

This is especially true because these people not only do not live here, they also do not seem to be able to bother to read anything about California from impartial sources.

By the way JimmyM01, we really do not want to increase our GDP by a large amount at the present time. Which already makes us among the top twenty or so countries in the world! Mainly because we have a natural problem that has nothing to do with politics. That is, (at least at present) a heavy duty lack of water resources. Of course, this particular problem also exists for all of the southwestern states of the US, not only California.

Also aerospace is making a large come back out at the Mojave airport and space facilities. However, it is not being sponsored by the erratic funding of the federal government (with a very fickle Congress). It is being sponsored by the many billionaires that made their fortune during the dot-com bubble of the late 1990’s, and is therefore much more consistent. Which I think is all to the good!! In this area eventually (the space part of aerospace in particular) aerospace will be far more vast than it ever was before.

And the senators that helped to kill the space part of aerospace the most were not from California, they were from those states such as South Dakota that really never had much aerospace industry in the first place. After all, you can certainly try to shoot down something that is not going to cost you many votes, now can you not?

Oh, look. Her hand bag says “cap & trade,” the program thought up and instituted by members of the G W Bush Administration. Funny how modern Republicans are so against successful ideas previously thought up by Republicans and now embraced by Democrats.
