I thought it was great when I saw a boy on a bicycle delivering newspapers in the afternoon. Later, as an adult, I delivered the morning paper in my hometown—a very thankless job. The managers would ‘crab’ at you for taking too much time getting ready to deliver and the customers would complain(a dollar fine) if the paper wasn’t at their feet when they opened the door in the morning. Glad I’m not doing that anymore especially getting up at 1:30am EVERY morning ! ! Could not have been so wrong when a kid ! ! ! !

Waits to get to the register before thumbing through the coupons.

I still read the paper. I can get all that the paper prints online, but I prefer to actually have it on hand.

All the coupons these days are for higher end cosmetics, hair color and fancy cleaning products. Also, they are much lower value than they used to be Occasionally, there is one for a cat treat that we might use, like a big 50 cents off on two or three packages. When we get to the check-out-line, the checker scans coupon and says, “You didn’t buy this.” Yes, I did! (rummage through bags to find and prove it) checker grudgingly subtracts the 50 cents. People in line are ticked off at the wait. Sooooo not worth it! There are NO bargains anymore.
