It’s telling that the left needs to pretend that Republican objections to trading five terrorist leaders for a single prisoner at a time when hostilities are still ongoing are actually categorical objections to doing anything at all to bring soldiers home. They can’t argue against the former so they have to pull up a strawman that they can actually beat.
Heaven forbid the U.S. does ANYTHING that might bring this, our longest war in history (well Iraq still actually is) to an end. Heaven forbid we stop having KIAs instead of the almost non-existent POW and MIAs in these wars.
My concern isn’t about rescuing Bergdahl, but shedding ever more blood, because “we don’t negotiate”, with anyone, anytime, ‘cause our motto, even in Las Vegas, is "Don’t tread on me!".
Interesting that Bergdahl washed out of the Coast Guard on “issues”, and due to the Army ignoring all kinds of “histories” of enlistees, they waved problems and took him in. Things may indeed get “interestinger”, and the FACT is that Republicans en masse, and some Democrats as well, have abandoned this guy, and burned indeed the flag.
Bergdahl wasn’t a POW because political pundits say so. He was tried and convicted in the court of public opinion, so we should dispense with a formal trial or any kind of actual fact and just hang him from the nearest tree.While we’re at it, we should hang Bergdahl’s father. Bill O’Reilly think’s Bob Bergdahl’s beard makes him look like a Muslim, so they’re both obviously working in league with the Taliban./eyeroll
