Certainly the American public has chosen to remain ignorant regarding healthy eating, and our children suffer the result. It is widely predicted that one out of every three children currently under the age of 8 will be diabetic by the time they turn 21. This is truly frightening.
Processed foods, as noted above, are tested by focus groups. The ONLY criteria is taste and the desire to eat more of it. If it is nutritionally empty, so what? If it is actually harmful, it doesn’t matter. Add sweet and salty, charge a fortune, and people will line up for miles. Fruits? Vegetables? Don’t be silly….
To be fair, you can take the healthiest, most robust, organically grown vegetables and turn them into tasteless mush, which seems to be the forte of many school lunch programs. It may not be an issue of spoiled children refusing to eat healthier food; it may be an issue of healthy children rightly refusing crap.
What’s astonishing (and depressing) is that Republicans/Fox “news” viewers are perfectly comfortable with feeding unhealthy food to school kids — you know, it’s Good For Business.
Drug users are a higher risk when they share used needles to cut down on the cost of their habit. Homosexuals (as well as heterosexuals, bisexuals, and anyone that falls somewhere in between) are at higher risk when they don’t use adequate protection.

This is what happens when your parents elect and re-elect the worst prez in history based on Hopey and Changey stuff!

Anybody who thinks Obama is the “worst prez in history” knows about as much about presidential history as King Tut knew about microbiology.

Wait, if the cartoon is about politicizing the school lunch program then why isn’t Michelle Obama behind the counter?

The food industry knows exactly what Americans like to eat: salt, sugar, and throw in fat as a condiment. That’s they sell.
