Well, I’d be surprised it to be Joshua Sundquist… in a wheelchair after having his other leg either in a cast or also amputated. (No offense, Josh.)

One of the biggest reasons it got to be so popular as a speaker, was because it was automatically prompt !…. – ….That, and it had more personality than the other speakers who used it, before….

It’s not the teleprompter. It is the team of dedicated writers and handlers who are able to keep in touch with the times, the people and the national pulse, and then present a clever and moving streaming text program, delivered by a person who barely cares what day it is.

That sounds like Obama and the Teleprompter-in-chief.

Little difference from the conference presenters who read, word for word, their Powerpoint presentation on the screen. Just mail me the Powerpoint, and we can all stay home.

@ghenley: What exactly is the problem with a President using a teleprompter?

hallcity1955: Yep. Except for modern smoothness, it is no different from Eisenhower’s cue cards (held off-screen by someone bigger than a teleprompter).

Yeah, well, except for the utter incompetence of the speaker to string together a single sentence without its presence, and in fact the absolute FAIL when it happens. But other than that, sure.
