Get your TV time in Now, girls, because it just might be unplugged for the summer… ;)

On the morrow, girls, your mother is unplugging and hiding all electronics used for entertainment so you can do your chores and reading this summer!

Sitting and watching TV peacefully or… sowing the seeds of Destruction of the House or Neighborhood… and paying for damages.

    Tough choose…

Oh dear, a nine-year old and a 13-year old alone in a house all day, that’s a recipe for disaster or mischief. Jan is really missing the assistance of her mother in the summer holidays. It’s going to be interesting to see how this develops.

Yes, I do know, but I was in a hurry and it was only one word.

In Minnesota, it is illegal to leave a child under the age of 13 alone(no adult present) in a house for more than 15 minutes. Let alone, a 13 yr. old and a preteen all day(their Aunt being next door doesn’t negate the situation).

It’s going to be raining all day here and this is where I’m staying. JoanHelen – at least it was someone from this comic. I’ve done that but put in a name from another comic.

The older girl is old enough to be a Counselor in Training for a day camp and the younger one should be attending. Both could be in volunteer programs for at least part of the week — lots of alternatives…

There is no law in FL concerning what age kids have to be before they can stay home alone. I know several 11 year olds that babysit kids in other families. Both my daughters were mature enough to be home alone at age 10 for a short time.

A normal 12 year old should be mature enough to be home alone for a couple hours.
