    Ruby makes the classic mistake of thinking in opposites: the weekend must be described as either boring OR exciting. Nadine recognizes shades of meaning. Same as when someone says “It’s too cold,” and they’re answered with “You’d rather to be too hot?” “Um, no… howzabout simply LESS cold? Howzabout nice and mild?”

    But, of course, Nadine can also be wrong in this instance. SHE may remember lots of other weekends equally boring- but maybe it truly IS the most boring that Ruby can remember.
