I love my eyeliner, mascara, and lip gloss, but I’m not too interested in anything that involves needles.

Wow, what a Jekyll and Hyde transformation between panels 2 and 3. Take a deep breath, Cathy, and step away from the riot-inducing saleswoman.

Agreed ejcapulet! I like my eyeshadow, mascara and light lip colour. Besides that, they can shove it. Heck, I’ve only started wearing makeup regularly recently (as in the past few months). And I’m 31 years old… lol

All this stupid obsession over lip gloss or whatever it is. How dumb. I never even wear lipstick. In the winter a little vaseline is fine, otherwise forget it.

I am pretty much addicted to Burt’s Bees lip balm, but that’s the only “make-up” I ever use. I just can’t see spending all that money on goop to smear on my face only to wash it down the drain a few hours later.

Susan001–if people actually used war paint instead of spending hours creating a mannequin look, I might be interested…

I’m like your friend, Doctor Toon.

Once I got into a discussion in a ladies room with an older woman (my mom) who is of the “never-go-anywhere-without-full-makeup-on” school, who was carrying on because I went about with no make-up on. I told her that if the Lord had intended us women to have color on our eyelids, he’d have given us color-changing skin like chameleons have.

From one of the stalls, a voice cried out, “Here, hear!”

We left the room in stitches. XD

I remember an old Baptist preacher, back before PC was a concern. He said a little paint never did hurt an old barn. Sorry ladies, it’s only a quote. The truth of it lies in the term little. Less is more and the full makeup look is really too much. My wife is a lovely lady who wears very little makeup, when she wears it at all, and therefore the effect is truly stunning.

I think over-puffed lips are grotesque.

Funny how the female commenters love cosmetics, and the males don’t.

Giving the opposite sex what WE think THEY want, rather than what they really want, is at the root of an awful lot of problems between the sexes, methinks.

Don’t wear makeup. I’ve had too many allergic reactions in the past. I tried “hypo-allergenic” makeup and it just takes a couple of days in a row for me to start reacting. I know there’s a lot of newer stuff out there now (i.e., different formulations) but I’ve given up trying to find something I won’t react to. Hubby loves me just the way I am.

I used to wear make up when I was a 20 something in So. Cal. But, after I moved to the mid-west, broke up w/ my fiancee, and had to either walk to take public transpo, I stopped wearing the stuff due to cost, and the effects of weather. Now if I try to wear that stuff it seems to bring my wrinkles out more.

I don’t know how old Cathy is, but I think at her age lip injections are just going to look terrible on her, as it does on most people.
