Summer starts June 21….let’s enjoy Spring while it’s here. Why is everybody so anxious to push the seasons ahead? I happen to like spring and fall.

I think my sister and I were about that full of “leadership potential” when our pool opened Memorial Day Weekend years ago. Humor is always best when you can relate.

My mom signed me up for swimming lessons (at a lake, in Minnesota) that started at 9 in the morning, and it felt like 50°. She never could understand why I didn’t get more excited about going swimming.

I think this is an affectionate tribute to the “Ban Bossy” campaign: http://banbossy.com.

With Alix demanding about the pool reminds me of a Leadership class I had this past spring oh I got a low A but passed. Val is right that is what Leaders do is lead forth knowing they are right and the rest may grumble in this case of water being too cold. A leader has to be in charge and I admire Alix leadership in enthusiasm. Here in KS a lot of schools have ended 22nd now we have scattered much need rain for Memorial Day weekend. To all the past and in memory of military men and women who died to protect us I thank the families on this Memorial Day.

When we were Seniors in high school we cut class to go to the beach with our friends (which we NEVER did because we were so straight laced) We sat in the truck watching the waves because the fog never burned off that day. So much for our fun day at the beach!

When puberty hits, the young suddenly can feel the cold a little more where it is sensitive. At that time they want it warmer.

My daughter is JUST like Alex; loves the water, no matter the temperature! I happily go along and sit in the sun while she swims… Until about June when it’s hot enough to get in myself. :) Granted… We live in the south, so it’s never 50* when the pool opens!!!

They need to get Alix into an indoor pool for winter; she’d love it!
