our cat doesn’t snub. but then again, when he came to us he was skin and bones from being abandoned in a swamp. the experience taught him to appreciate all types of food.
Took in a stray myself…of my 3 kitties (plus one pooch) the former stray cleans his bowl every time while the other 2 do their finicky impression. Bless you all for taking in needy pets…they make us better people.
Our 12 year old cat doesn’t understand the word snub. If you offer him dry cat food that he is unfamiliar with he just runs from the bowl to us and back again, meowing like it’s the end of the world. Once he gets his usual cat chow and iams mix, he wolf’s that down faster than a lot of dogs I’ve known. Sometimes he manages to shuffle in such a mouthful that he can’t chew it so he spits it out on the floor next to the bowl so he can try again..
My neighbors had a semi-feral Tom cat. When they installed another double wide, they drilled a well. Drilling is noisy so The cat, I named him Timkin, moved to my porch. I fed & watered him for a while and he let me pet him. When the noise stopped, he went back home. Cats can be fickle beasts. :-)
