What do they stress about?? How to boil water for the Jello recipe? Ma has all the stress when visiting Joy and Burl.

I would think they would think mantra was a food but I guess maybe it was looked up in the dictionary? Or do they have such a creature in the house?

And of course, Jerry’s word is “Viagra.”

…..not sure if “alphabet boy” means Jer or Joy’s mom……every now and then he thinks he’s getting a real zinger in there, and the target is only a secondary consideration…….just shooting away at something makes him feel clever and brimming with wit. What an absolute dimbulb: but by the grace of God, he isn’t aware of his dimbulbedness!!

Indeed! I assumed Burl’s remark was aimed at his MIL, but it could as well have been to Jerry. Jerry, who is announcing his wants “women” while having a girlfriend who is better than he deserves. I agree that he’d definitely need help to handle what he THINKS he wants.
