I’ve said this in previous comments, so this bears repeating: Just because the calendar says it’s the first day of Spring, it’s God almighty himself who decides which part of North America actually sees the coming event. So it pays to be smart and waituntil actually arrives.

I checked the temp moments before I saw this strip. It’s 9º at 7AM on March 23d. My reaction was the same as Heart’s. I think the local robins feel the same way too.

Give up candy for Lent? Oh why does Lent come when the stores are so full of Easter candy? Ironic that one of the makers of Easter candy is called Lindt.

Are you on the West Coast of Canada (Coquitlam, British Columbia) like me or on the West Coast of the U.S.A.?

Calling out God, I wouldn’t think would be considered a Devine calling.

Warmer weather would be sweet, whether or not you’ve given up candy. And we finally did get warmer weather not long ago, though the temp has dropped yet again. Although around here, the arrival of springlike weather usually takes its time, winter is even more determined than usual to hang on as long as possible.

God was made to be cursed at. Seriously, you know how boring language would be if you could say things like, “godawful”, or “oh god no”?
