it would take more than a little weed to explain Obama’s behavior.

While many criminals (speeding is a crime, although a minor one) would make that argument, the fact is that ten under the speed limit is legal, and ten over is not.

harleyquinn: We can see where you are coming from in one sentence. “I finally found the information I needed to back up my observations.” If you look far enough you can find the “information” needed to back up your ‘observation’ that speeding is the best way to reduce traffic deaths.

One small note lifebyc: Deaths related to pot do not equal zero. You can state “unknown” if you like but the number IS definitely greater than zero.

Harley: you’re right on one point: driving 5 mph UNDER the speed limit and impeding traffic is roughly 500 TIMES as likely to CAUSE an accident as driving 10 mph OVER the speed limit, if that’s the speed traffic is flowing at, which it commonly IS. But: tests have proven that one “glass” of alcohol DOES IMPAIR you more than a toke on pot, Even ONE drink is impairing,, well below the .08 legal limit.

Your “stuff” on marijuana is must more “Reefer Madness” BS though. Alcohol is FAR more damaging to the body if used in excess, which is more than about 1 -2 drinks AT MOST. Therapeutic effects quickly disappear above that level, even for that “cardiac benefit”.

How many pot users, even medical users (it’s far better and safer than 90% of the legal prescription drugs for the same conditions) INJECT THC? Which btw, it’s also the synergistic effects of other elements in marijuana, not just the THC that make it effective! The synthesized “big pharma” versions make people miserable, don’t work as well, and have many side effects that using marijuana does NOT. (Anecdotal evidence from friends, as well as medical studies around the country have proven!)

^For muscle spasticity, one “hit” is often quite enough, as my paraplegic friends can attest. As to neuropathy, it’s also effective, and exactly what controls the signals from the nerves? Half life is also relative to dosage, and for many medical conditions, the longer the half life the better, and the less need to repeat dosage. You also again lose the point that THC is only part of the compounds in actual marijuana that results in the “natural” being MORE effective than the synthetic.

Harley: just a note, my Dad, brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law were or are alcoholics, so I’m very familiar with the effects of alcohol vs marijuana, as well as “hard” drugs like opiate, meth, cocaine, PCP, and other “recreational” uses of drugs, as well as illegal use of prescription drugs.

The beatings I received until the age of 15 are indeed lasting memories. Never saw said violence from marijuana, but one of the most violent arrests I had to make was a guy on PCP, as well as meth and a few other combined “goodies”.

While there DO need to be some regulations and restrictions regarding MJ intoxication, it’s far, far, safer than alcohol, or any of those others.

So, one tiny section of a huge interview and Benson can’t even focus long enough to hear him say he thinks it’s pointless, he wouldn’t do it now, he doesn’t want his daughters to do it, but it’s not physically harmful..Maybe we should figure out what Steve’s on and ban that. It obviously messes with attention span and comprehension.

^Redman: we have a shared history on that, and like experience as to “affect”. I’m sure you’re also familiar with so many of our friends that came back and self medicated on that more dangerous DRUG: alcohol!! (Yep, when I first got back it was about a fifth a day, but I got off that one, and after that initial year back, quit “hard stuff” for over 12 years, but now may have a glass of wine with dinner.)

As to “dosage” and the argument that pot smokers just keep using more and more, even if “medical”? I have two anti-spasm and anti-anxiety prescription drugs, that I want to get away from because of side effects, like well, memory loss, and pot may be the answer. My doctor has prescribed that I CAN and MAY take up to EIGHT TIMES the amount of these drugs that I ever actually use in any day, because I don’t like being that stoned!! (and incapacitated)
