….and other studies (also with very tiny numbers of subjects) fail to show that it causes brain damage. The problem with marijuana studies is that they’re illegal in the U.S., so they don’t get conducted. It stands to reason that bringing smoke into your lungs isn’t healthy, and messing with your brain isn’t healthy, which means Obama’s observation (which is misquoted here to make it sound worse than it was) is extremely reasonable. He also gave a series of sound reasons not to smoke marijuana. But conservatives block that part out in their bubble-addled brains, because they have to pretend that Obama is a dope fiend.

The artistic and creative side of Ramirez’s brain is well developed, too bad the logical side is not.

There seems to be a need for far more research into the effects of .cannabis, both the detrimental and potential beneficial.

Pretty much… Marijuana can and does cause cancer just like cigarettes. Marijuana used long term regularly can impair some mental functions, particularly when started in adolescence.THC stays in your body up to 30 days creating a nightmare for employers, and insurers. What happens when a commercial driver or pilot tests positive for THC after an accident involving loss of life?Marijuana long term usage also gives the user a 19% increased chance of developing a bi-polar disease...Alcohol and cigarettes both have their problems in terms of health and societal impact. So does Marijuana and it can be just as bad or worse than either in some ways. Those who claim it is “harmless” are delusional.

“…Because something stays in your system is not reason to ban it…” When you are in court, Juries will decide you are negligent. And Employers will not employ you. But, people on mj could care less about those things.

People have got to get with the program, marijuana is well on the way to legalization nationwide. One hell of a tax source and huge savings on ridicules waste on fighting it.

Right wing radio, TV, and TEA have done a lot more damage to brains in America.

^In ’Nam what I saw was drunks coming out of the clubs killed, while those awful “stoners” were able to react when it hit the fan, and survive. Just spoke to an Iraq vet today who saw the same thing. Also seeking a medical card, because the “big pharma” drugs are messing me up worse, and yes, my medical issues ARE a result of my service in ’Nam.

Seems no one mentioned the 20 year study completed several years ago that was the end all study to prove once and for all that the evil Cannabis plant caused lung cancer. 20 years and several thousand participant ( including one that smoked 20,000 joints ) the conclusion was that smoking Cannabis does not cause lung cancer. Another conclusion that will probably not be followed up on is the fact that it might also help prevent lung cancer in cigarette smokers. I wonder how those toxicology experts who say Cannabis is 63 times more harmful than cigarettes explain why no one has ever died from smoking Cannabis while 450,000 Americans die annually from cigarettes.
