When It comes to the meat department, I have morphed into Fergus. Don’t forget the marrow bones, I need those for Bordelaise sauce!

Funny, Eldo! I’d say Mel looks all too comfortable in the pickle barrel. Funny comic today. Hard to rein in that Fergus at the meat counter.

This, of course, is precisely why your dog isn’t allowed in the grocery store! (Service animals excepted.)

Just a heads-up to anyone who might notice. I’ll be going into hospital for minor surgery tomorrow, so will be out of the loop for a while. I hope to be back on line by Monday.

Fergus should get Mel to take him out to dinner. Maybe some Nice Rrrrrice with steamed salmon and a baked sweet potato or K-9 beef meatballs with a side of meat-flavored Bowser Beer at aReal Pooch Cafe

Sadly, my MOM isn’t around anymore. Passed at the age of 89, LT in the ARMY NURSE CORP in WW2, worked at WALTER REED, took care of many of our decorated heroes, incl Black Jack Pershing and Gen. Patton. Worked in our local hospital for almost 40 years. She WAS COMPASSIONATE, CARING AND KIND. ONE OF THE MOST RESPECTED RN’S BY DOCTORS, NURSES, AND HER PATIENTS, and I AM NOT SAYING THAT BECAUSE SHE WAS MY MOM! I NEVER KNEW JUST HOW MUCH SHE WAS RESPECTED UNTIL SHE PASSED.

But as Mom told me many times, NURSING ISN’T WHAT IT WAS WHEN I LEARNED. THEN IT WAS TRAINING AND BEDSIDE MANOR. NOW IT’S WHAT YOU LEARN IN THE BOOKS. YOU CAN’T BE A REAL NURSE AND LEARN IT FROM BOOKS. YOU HAVE TO CARE ABOUT YOUR PATIENTS!

Funny, now that I’m no longer obliged to be vegetarian, there are many days when I have no meat, and even some (like today) when I have no cheese either, or other dairy – today I had some yogurt with fruit at breakfast. I have returned to drinking just about every day however (not a lot, but I enjoy other things more than water most of the time, even just kool aide or tea, but more often something fermented).

    J P Steve – good wishes!

Dry- good to hear about your mom. Did she pass recently? My parents both passed in their 80s but I hope to do better at longevity (now that life is such fun!) I’ll be transferring mom’s ashes to my new garden (with another new plant in her honor).

I am reminded every-so-often how things are not so bad with me.It makes it hard for me to complain about the little downer things in my life.
