But then, it would be innocent plant fibers that would be harmed, for the sake of powering our vehicles… the question then becomes: “When will this madness stop”?… (sigh..) I just don’t want the textile harming industry on my conscience…..

They can make the wind blow in two different directions at the same time. Clever

It’s ludicrous, yes, but I have to admit I’m rather attracted to the idea of sailing around the highways…feels kinda classy, y’know?

The world would have to be very different for that situation to arise in the first place, so I wouldn’t be so sure of the revolution.

Shouldn’t those be human-drawn wagons, with wild horses grazing by the side of the road?

Would not work.Since there is no fence between here and Canada we would be soon over run by crazed Canadians every polar vortex.

Is that a start of a list of things that require massive government subsidies? You could add bio-fuel (especially corn ethanol).

Night-Gaunt49: Electricity is a way of moving energy, not producing it, what drives the generator produces it. Alcohol, animal, clear night radiation, coal, falling water, garbage pyrolisis, geothermal, hydrogen, lightning, methane from anaerobic digestion of sewage, microwaves from space, natural gas, nuclear fission, nuclear fusion, oil, ocean temperature gradient, thermal wicking, tides, waves, wind, and wood are the known (or theorized) energy sources. .Of those, lightning is impractical because, while it will strike the same place more than once, it doesn’t do it often enough. Despite billions boondoggled away, nuclear fusion is nowhere near working and space platform microwave transmission requires a 10 mile diameter receiver and everything in between is an oven. Alcohol takes away from food production. Coal and oil have too much carbon emissions and natural gas and wood have only reduced amounts, and garbage pyrolisis emits heavy metals as well..That still leaves a lot of sources. The irony is that most governmental money goes to coal, nuclear fission and fusion, natural gas, and oil (and formerly through NASA for the space platform that could be used as a sci-fi weapon), which concentrates power in governments and corporations rather than the renewable and small scale sources which puts the power in people.
