That bathroom is far too clean, I would say its Patty’s, but then again only Joy would put the TP in the dining room, and have polkadot TP. Verl looks thinner somehow….nah.

Yeah, Verl, you’ll actually weigh less by changing the way the scale sits. Idiots.

I see they didn’t install a grab bar by the scale, like they had on their to do list some time ago.

I hate to say it, but from what I’ve read they’re right.

A doctor told me years ago that a spring scale is only accurate on a hard, level surface.

From what I’ve read since, analog ones register less weight on a hard floor than on carpet.

Digital scales can show more weight on a bare floor.

Both kinds are inaccurate on springy or uneven floors, even bare ones…. which is why they’re notoriously wrong in mobile homes or trailers.

It has to do with whether the scale warps slightly or the inside parts can shift when weight is placed in the middle.

Balance scales with sliding weights instead of springs aren’t affected.

However… of course … if you place the scale where it says you weigh less… it doesn’t make you weigh less….. it makes you foolish.

But isn’t that what the Pennys are all about?

Scales are different in the stores to. BBB had one on sale and my friend tried it out along with 3 other “floor” models all were within 4 # of each other. So we didn’t buy. We were told they had to be reset when it got home but I think it’s too much trouble. Thanks for the tip on scales Susan. I’ll pass it to my sis she says she gained 4 # when she moved in with her daughter, in a mobile home with warpy floors. I do like the ones at the Dr. better than a home one The ones at Publix are pretty on my weight also. I think Verl is thinner because she isn’t on the 6 meals every 40 min . I can’t believe all 3 fit in the bathroom either. Like the plaque on the wall to.. I hope a window is open even with the door open WHEWWW

Other weight loss strategies: clip nails, exhale, diuretics, laxatives, haircut, going commando and socksless, no wrist watch or glasses. Anything.

At least she is not weighting herself naked. Doesn’t everyone weight themselves naked for the most accurate weight I do. Yes I did just say that Brain bleach and anyone.

I don’t care if it is totally accurate (but I keep mine on tile floor). What matters is how much I gain or lose each day (so that I can track how any change in my diet affect it).

I got an email yesterday with news that my 75YO cousin has bad shingles; my holistic doctor discouraged my inclination to get the vaccine (and it’s pricey) but I did that on my way home this morning (because I drove past my Walgreens). I wanted a funny card to help her too, as I hear that stress is a major problem in aggravating it. I have never been very close to most of my cousins, but we DO exchange yearly letters and she has had enough problems with her family.We were close as children (she was eldest of 3 girls) Shown here at left with me in center, and her middle sister.

They both need a scale with a “oooff!! wot th’ @*#^%? Hey, ONE of you guys please get off, O’K.? Yer breakin’ my back!!” listing on the dial!! Snark! SNARK!!
