And yet, his life and death has evidently started a big battle among the ultra conservatives in this country. I have not always been a fan of Newt Gingrich, but this time he is absolutely on the correct side. Especially against the likes of Rush Limbaugh, who is the biggest gasbag of them all!!

As Gingrich so accurately said, he tried for decades to work through an utterly corrupt system before doing what the Founding Fathers of the USA did. I expect these words of truth will doom Gingrich within his party, as truth seems to do.

I’m willing to bet that England probably thought the same thing about Washington, Franklin, Adams, and the other.

The fact that this man went to prison for 27 years and walked out of that prison without embracing the anger and hate that prisons tend to breed deseves respect. .He was in a postion to start a violent civil war. And yet he choose a different path. Africa is better off because of it.

This from the stripe of American jerk who thinks Americans should rise in armed rebellion if asked to undergo a background check to purchase a deadly weapon. You don’t know how hellish South Africa was under apartheid. If you’re going to define Mandela as a terrorist, you need to count George Washington in the same category.

A lot of these posters seem oblivious that Nelson Mandela was in prison from 1962 onward. He did advocate destruction of property as a form of protest, but not lethal violence. The ANC did go on to commit their own acts of violence, but Nelson Mandela was running the ANC from prison.Winnie Mandela was involved in the violence. She won’t be nearly as fondly remembered as her former husband.

Despite his tough guy, freedom fighter image, Reagan embraced brutal regimes around the globe.http://www.reagan.utexas.edu/archives/speeches/1983/80483a.htmhttp://www.reagan.utexas.edu/archives/speeches/1982/101282e.htmhttp://coreyrobin.com/2013/05/10/ronald-reagan-rios-montt-is-totally-dedicated-to-democracy/http://www.gainesville.com/article/20110203/NEWS/110209801http://www.commondreams.org/headlines04/0609-01.htm
