I expect more from Stantis. Any major bill has glitches on rollout, and it’s not the same as sending young Americans into an unnecessary war without adequately armored vehicles and then shrugging it off. As for “reading the bill,” that’s transparent rightwing nonsense — with the length of bills these days, all legislators and the president count on staffers to vet the details and give them the executive summary. And Bush was notorious for signing legislation but adding statements saying that he was going to refuse to abide by it.

Step up your game. You’re beginning to sound like McCoy.

TJDestry has it right..Let’s set aside our political differences for a moment. I’m talking about the quality of this comic strip – which is abysmal..Except the Sunday panels. On Sundays, this really is Prickly City – wonderful banter between two individuals who, in spite of their 180 degree differences in beliefs, still manage to have meaningful dialog and – gasp – manage to be friends!.As for the daily panels – what can I say? Nothing new or substantive has been said. Everything said has been said before, time and time again, and more eloquently. Most of the political statements seem to be coming from the readers – “probama” and “nobama” alike. The strip itself is devoid of information – and humor. The strip has become stale..Except for Sunday. Even these last few months, the Sunday panels still seem to be gems – of wisdom and humor! And I thank Scott Stantis for them!.Given as long as this present arc has lasted, it is my fear that the evil bunny is replacing Winslow – which I think is a terrible mistake. And the Carmen that appears from time to time with the evil bunny is but a shadow of the character she is with Winslow..Last, and certainly least: Bring back the prairie dogs! In that five day arc, more was explained about the political process and party politics than these bunny strips have done in – what is it – a year now?.They’re coming to take me away, ha ha, they’re coming to take me away, ho ho, hee hee, hoo hoo…

Exactly – anyone who thinks that anyone in Washington has any respect left for the Constitution and the Bill of Rights has been asleep for the past thirty or forty years.

Indeed, GW Bush supposedly referred to the Constitution as “Just a piece of paper”.

I realize that accuracy isn’t a requirement for humor, but certainly the humor should at least use the inaccuracies to make a joke. Stating falsities as though they were facts, and then claiming some sort of angry irony just doesn’t meet the criteria of successful humor. I’m fine with nasty, and even okay with cynical dishonesty, but no actual humor is unforgivable.
